I was recently tasked with updating some content published in Flash. The movie used the built-in Flash UI components so I thought the changes would be fairly easy. I needed to add a couple of options to an optiongroup and tweak some of the label fonts. I found it surprisingly hard to accomplish this. I'll admit my knowledge of Flash is limited but scouring the web for solutions kept revealing the same convoluted ActionScript. I think that's what surprised me the most. A tool built primarily for design oriented people required alot of code. Suffice to say that I got the job done, but it wasn't easy. It has made me appreciate Flex even more.
