Advanced ActionScript 3 with Design Patterns Review

Although written specifically for ActionScript this book really helped me further my understanding of design patterns and how to apply them to all my software development projects. Additionally, the the last few chapters cover some advanced ActionScript topics like E4X. Recommended for any experienced developer interested in design patterns.

Advanced ActionScript 3 with Design Patterns

Head First Design Patterns

Easy to read and follow.

All the examples are in Java and I'm not a Java programmer, but I could easily understand the examples.

This books is not a pattern catalog. Only the fundamental patterns are presented.

An excellent place to start learning about design patterns.

Adobe Flex 2: Training From the Source

I finally finished this book. I highly recommend it. The book is geared toward experienced developers looking to jump into Flex development. Flex can be challenging for developers who are used to the traditional page based architecture of web applications. This book does a great job of demonstrating the differences. It also briefly covers some advanced topics like shared objects and skinning. It's not a complete guide, but it provides a good primer so that you can easily move onto more advanced training.
